BAY AREA ROAD TRIP TO SHARK FIN COVE

A lot of the Bay Area is still closed and Warren and I have been itching to get out of our apartments. We love to try new restaurants and explore our surroundings on weekends. We finally had enough of staying inside and decided to road trip down to Shark Fin Cove the other weekend which was so fun!

Shark Fin Cove is located in Davenport, which is just North of Santa Cruz and approximately a 1.5 hour drive from SF. We picked up sandwiches and a bottle of wine from Mollie Stones and made our way down South. We had hoped to picnic at the beach upon arrival but sadly Park Rangers had it closed off to the public. So we instead found a spot to lay down our blanket along the cliff side overlooking the cove. We still enjoyed taking in the sites from above but hope to make it down again when the beach opens back up.

On the way back, we drove along Highway 1, which if you’re unfamiliar with follows the coastline of California. Although it’s the slower way back to the city, we enjoy pulling over to the side of the road to take in pretty views along the way. We also stopped by Mavericks Beach in Half Moon Bay as it’s a known site for big waves and surfers. Highly recommend making a pit stop here the next time you take a road trip along the coast. We hope to come back once restaurants open back up because I’ve been wanting to check out Half Moon Bay Brewing Company and The Ritz Carlton!

Road trips are just good for the soul.
