LA WEEKEND RECAP

So in exciting news, my bestie and her hubby are moving from LA to San Francisco this Summer! I could not be more pumped as we haven't lived in the same city since we graduated high school in 2008! So crazy - 10 years! Although I could not be more thrilled, I am a little sad as I now don't have an "excuse" to go visit LA. So W and I decided to make one last trip there before she makes the big move to Nor Cal.

Since we decided to go so last minute, we wanted to look at alternative ways to get to LA and we discovered Ride Cabin, which is the coolest concept! You board your bus in SF at 11pm and fall asleep in your own personal cabin and wake up in LA. It literally feels like time travel haha.

When you board, your "dream attendant" gives you a cup of chamomile tea along with a water bottle and a melatonin shot which really helps you fall asleep that much quicker! To be honest, I was a little skeptical at how comfortable I would be, and y'all I really was pleasantly surprised! Their sheets, pillows, mattress, comforter all feel very luxurious. I do recommend snagging a cabin at the front of the bus as I thought it was a much smoother ride than the back of the cabin (we tried both) Little pro tip for ya!

Anyways, I thought it'd be fun to recap our trip and everything we did, which was mainly eat and drink if I'm being honest haha! We didn't really go with too much of a plan so it was fun to just see where the day took us! See below for what we did each day and few snaps from the weekend!

Friday: We arrived via Ride Cabin early at 6am in Santa Monica and grabbed an uber to my friend's place in Culver City. We actually worked half a day from her apartment and then grabbed lunch at Gjelina on Abbott Kinney in Venice! Not only is the restaurant super cute but the food is delicious too! Highly recommend.

We then birded (motorized scooters) around Venice and headed to Warren's friends place and chilled by his pool for the rest of the afternoon. My bestie and I grabbed pre-dinner drinks at Hotel Culver, which had the most charming patio and tasty craft cocktails. For dinner, we met up with a bunch of Warren's college friends who live in LA at El Coyote. Food was pretty good but the ambiance was meh. I wouldn't really recommend going there. I wanted to go elsewhere but it's hard trying to wrangle a bunch of guys for dinner in a convenient location for all haha. We went out after dinner to Shore Bar in Santa Monica which was really fun! I do recommend that place :)

Saturday: We had a slow morning on Saturday and when we finally got going we decided to head to Bungalow for lunch and drinks. It's a great people watching spot! After that, we went to Hotel Erwin's rooftop bar to grab a drink/watch the sunset and finished off the night with dinner at Hama Sushi Venice -- highly recommend!

Sunday: After basically eating and drinking all day Saturday we thought it would be a good idea to go on a hike. I really wanted to go to Runyon Canyon as that's been on my list of things to do in LA but Warren had never been to Griffith Observatory so we decided to hike up one of the trails so he could check it out. Afterwards, we grabbed lunch at Ashland Hill in Santa Monica (they have the yummiest frosé!) and then biked around the Venice/Santa Monica boardwalks which was soo fun! I can't believe how many people were out and about on a late Sunday afternoon! We topped off our weekend with dinner at Forma (AMAZING Italian on Montana Ave Santa Monica) before boarding Ride Cabin back to SF!
