WEDDING WEDNESDAY // OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

Sooo we're officially 6 months out from our wedding! I can hardly believe it! I feel like I've ticked off all the "big" things off my to-do list but still have so much of the "details" to do. And speaking of details, keep reading to the end of my post for a special discount from Zola

Oy vey, wedding planning is definitely overwhelming but it does have it's perks like finally getting some photos of us together! With blogging, it seems that I have a shit ton of photos of myself (sounds so vein, I know) but none of the both of us!

Engagement photos can be hard. Let's face it. Not only do you have to choose a location, you also have to choose your outfit(s)! I'd recommend doing at least two looks -- one dressier and one more casual. And on top of those details, the actual shoot itself can be a bit uncomfortable. You're posing with your fiance in front of a photographer (who is more often than not a stranger) and some poses just honestly feel so awkward! My biggest tip is to just relax (maybe have a glass of wine before) and try to go with the flow! Listen to your photographer -- he or she will direct some poses and just do them even if it feels awkward! It will most likely end up looking great on camera :)

For our photos, I knew immediately where I wanted to take them (more on that later - keep reading!) but had noo idea what to wear. I literally was at the mall the day before our photo shoot desperately trying to find an outfit. I initially had a vision of what I wanted to wear (a long flowy white dress) but of course I couldn't find what I was looking for when I actually needed it. Please tell me, that this happens to you too! So I ended up wearing this gorgeous dress I had bought a few weeks prior for a wedding.  Which, don't get me wrong, is an absolutely stunning dress, just not what I had in mind!! (fyi it's currently on sale! Shop it here).

Then for my second outfit, I knew I wanted a more casual look but I just couldn't figure out what I wanted it to look like. I'm a blogger for christs sake - you'd think I'd have my shiz together! Haha. I ended up finding this gorgeous top (no longer available online, sorry!) but I'm still not totally in love with my outfit. Cute yes, but not what I was really wanting for my engagement outfit. Looking back, I wish I went with skinny jeans not these more boyfriend fit and a sweater.  And side note - I was FREEZING my butt off for these photos! Luckily it was a clear day (no fog, a miracle) but sooo freaking cold! I was shivering the entire time and was literally smiling through the pain.

For the locations, the "woodsy" shot is at Lovers Lane in The Presidio. It's a gorgeous trail super close to where we live and Warren and I love walking through there on the weekends! Plus, I just love the name :) For our second location, I knew I wanted something with a SF landmark and decided that Marin Headlands would be perfect as it's my absolute favorite view of the Golden Gate Bridge!

Now onto this special offer from Zola! First off, if you're unfamiliar with Zola, they are an amazing one-stop-shop for your registry needs. Instead of having 5 different registries, you can instead have just one (Zola) as they carry so many different brands of kitchen needs, electronics, furniture, etc! And on top of that, you can also use Zola to host your wedding website and utilize their guest list and wedding check list! Sign up for a Zola account (it's free!) and receive a $50 credit when you receive $500 in gifts!

Keep scrolling for a peek into our engagement photos! Can you guess which one(s) we used for our save the date? I'll share our save the dates in a future blog post!
