GALENTINES SOIREE AT SUGARFINA
Fellow blogger bestie Megan Funk of The Urbanite Insight and I teamed up to host a fun galentines party with our friends over at Sugarfina last week! It was a night filled with cute (and delicious) candy, bubbly, and glam courtesty of Benefit Cosmetics! How could we say no when Sugarfina first asked us to host this little soiree?! I mean, what’s not to love?!
I do have to admit, I was a little apprehensive to say yes in the first place. I have never hosted a event as a blogger before so it was a little scary but fully rewarding! One of my goals this year is to step out of my comfort zone more and this did just that! One of the main reasons I was apprehensive in the first place was me over thinking “Will people show up to my party?!” Literally, I’m like a 5 year old thinking no one will come to my birthday party.
I’m not sure if you all know this, but for my entire career thus far (for about 4+ years) I have worked in the marketing department for magazines. One of the biggest roles of my job is planning and executing events. From hiring caterers, planning the menu, entertainment, floral, rentals, guest list, invite, you name it – I do! So events are nothing new to me. But even for my work events I throw, I’m still nervous for people to show up (which of course they always do). But it’s this innate fear that I cannot get rid of! Mom—do you have something to tell me?? Did people not show up to my birthday party one year?! Haha just kidding but I don’t have an explanation for this anxiety of mine!
Anyways, enough with the side rant there, our Sugarfina event went off without a hitch and it was truly a fabulous time! I look forward to hosting many more of these in the future! And thanks again to our friends at Sugarfina and Benefit cosmetics for a wonderful kick off to Valentines day! And don’t forget to pick up a cute XOXO bento candy set.
