PEACE, LOVE AND FRINGE

Confession: I am kinda obsessed with Clarion Alley. I think it's because I grew up in Austin where people praise cool graffiti and literally throw protests when the city wants to paint over them. Case in point: the iconic "I love you so much" graffiti at Joe's coffee down on South Congress. Another one of my favorites in Austin is the frog graffiti that says "hi" which was right by middle school as well as the graffiti on the train bridge that goes across the span of Town Lake. Unfortunately that has now been painted over but I believe new graffiti has replaced the original but it was fun and inspiring graffiti (there was pac man and the word breathe written beautifully). I'm definitely not condoning defacing buildings with crude words and other nonsense but there's something so artistic and magical about graffiti that speaks to the heartbeat of a city.

The murals in Clarion alley are truly amazing - what I love is that there are so many different types of murals! I mean there is a comic book strip, an elephant that makes you feel like you're in India, unicorns, the list goes on. You could truly spend hours in this alley gazing and reading all of the art! Clarion alley is located right in The Mission which, is definitely the artistic "hipster" part of San Francisco. Besides Clarion Alley, The Mission has so much to offer -- the yummiest of restaurants (Lolinda probably takes the cake for one of my favorite restaurants,) and amazing vintage and antique shops. When W and I went this passed weekend, I couldn't help but pop in several antique shops. I can't help myself when I spy mid century modern pieces! I wish my apartment (and wallet) were bigger so that I could actually purchase some of the amazing pieces I find. There's nothing more fun that antique treasure hunting!

I decided to rock my new suede fringe jacket on this outing as I thought it would fit in perfectly with the vibe of The Mission! I layered it with a long tee, distressed denim, and open toe booties for a relaxed and chic look. Now I normally always wear my hair straight down with no fancy undoes or braids but I went out of my comfort zone and rocked the half up, half down bun. When W first saw me he said "What is that on top of your head?! Is that a man bun?!" I laughed but I did think, do I look silly?! But at the end of the day, I liked it and that's all that matters! I think it's a easy and fun twist to change up your everyday hair. Haters gonna hate.

Happy hump day, loves!
