TUCK IT TUESDAY : HOW TO MEAL PREP

PureBarre_ThisandThat_TuckItTuesday

Meal prepping is not just for the avid weight lifters, it can benefit anyone! For me (and Will) it is a lifesaver. Life gets crazy, and when it does, it is so nice to be able to come home and relax after a long day instead of having to worry about making dinner.

After my recent diagnosis with Hashimoto's and severe hypoglycemia, I have had a very limited diet. Planning out my meals has taken a lot of the stress off of what my next meal will be or what I will be eating for the rest of the week. While it does become monotonous, I try to choose foods that can be mixed and matched to create a larger variety of meals.

For example, I always make will both baked and chopped sweet potatoes (I know this doesn't sound like different things but a simple change of texture can trick your brain into thinking you aren't having the same meal over and over again!). Or you could make fajita seasoned chicken to either have as tacos, on a salad, or stuff a sweet potato -- add different toppings and you won't get sick of them!

I highly encourage trying meal prepping for everyone! Portion out carrots, celery, and hummus for fast snacks on the go. Double your spaghetti sauce and make extra noodles to last you a few more days. Stock up on healthy bars and single-serving nut butters for those super busy days. If you have any questions at all, I have become a meal prepping pro, so please comment below!
